We're just five days into 2017 and this New Year has already presented highs and lows. With each passing challenge, it is easy to lose focus of your goals and remain accountable for your health: emotionally, mentally, and physically. Self Accountability is my main focus in life right now. Each month, I will share my monthly affirmations to facilitate transparency and accountability. So here's to January:
- Allow yourself to grow at your own pace. Often we compare ourselves to the growth and movement of others. Because of this, we can become frustrated with our journey. Just remember that you will arrive! When, where, and how is completely up to you so stay focused and enjoy the path you take.
- Stop letting fear hinder you. Fear of the unknown can become crippling if you allow it to be your focus. Change your perspective and choose to see the benefit in each opportunity: LEARNING. No matter the outcome, you will learn something, in the end. Use what you learn to create better opportunities.
- Allow yourself to be vulnerable. You deserve love. You deserve to feel all of the things that come with building healthy relationships, the good and the bad. The good is healing. The pain that the bad brings remind you that you're still alive. Embrace it all!
- Stop fighting your human nature. At times, you are weak. Sometimes, you need to cry. Hugs are healing for you. And grieving is a part of life. Stop trying to control every aspect of your life. You're human and you will have your moments. Allow them.
