Hi.

Neauxlamade is a safe space to freely express myself as I explore motherhood, the arts, and self-love. I share my journey through life, discuss current/hot topics, and much more.

For Every Girl and Boy.....

For Every Girl and Boy.....

Hey little girl! I see you over there. Hidden in the box. Covered with a façade. So even when people stare, they can’t see what you really hide. The pain that you have to bare. Who told you weren’t enough? Or that you wouldn’t make it? Who told you that in order to be successful, you would have to fake it? Who told you weren’t beautiful? Or that you’ll never be more than your hair? Who told you that you’re only pretty with makeup? Or that your worth equates to your daily count of male stares? A cute face? A slim waist? A nice butt? Giving no attention to your thoughts. Who told you that you just have to accept what they give? That’s not how you should live.

Hey little boy! Who told you that it was wrong to feel? Or that what you’re feeling isn’t real? Who told you that you’ll never amount to anything? Or that you can’t be all you want to be? Who told you that your worth only equates to what you mean to me? Who told you to deny yourself in order to be real? Who taught you all these limits? Who taught you not to love? Where did you learn to hate? Who said that you will never be great? Who taught you that as a man, you can never make mistakes? Who taught you that you should do whatever the world says, even if it’s wrong? Why do you feel the need to be so strong? To never show any weakness? Or that men don’t cry? Please stop believing the lies.

To all the girls and boys hidden inside women and men, know that you’re more than they taught you, how they see you, how they treat you. You’re more than the labels that the world strategically places on you. You’re more than your religion, education, and race. Everything that you want to achieve, you can do. But first, you have to allow yourself, to be, you. Forget the labels and what they say you should be. Learn yourself, love yourself, and allow yourself to be free. Free from the expectations and standards of the world. Find the thrills in life. Your places of peace. Your joy. Your happiness. Living is the greatest opportunity you will get. Don’t waste it pretending. Be you. Be free. Be more than what they taught you, you can be.
